As the UK election day nears it becomes less and less clear who will emerge victorious – if anybody.

Do the British people really not want a “leader”?

Have they fallen into the current western democratic fashion of ending up with a compromise, a coalition of thoughts and ideas, a mishmash of ideologies, a hodgepodge of philosophies that all seem on the surface to mean everything to everybody but in effect say nothing to anybody.
However, I have to confess at this point that for the first time since I could vote in a UK general election I will not be voting for a party with a chance of an overall majority– a vote which could at least contribute to unlocking a stalemate – but will cast my vote for a party with no chance of an attaining outright power.

Thus I know that I am contributing to a probable miscellany chaos and indecision but I am doing so in the hope that the minor party(s) showing in this election can bring about a real and needed sea change in British politics before it’s too late.

My – perhaps vain – hope is that her majesty is faced with the prospect of asking the leader of a minority party to form the next government.

A leader who has vision and a determination to pull these islands out of their mélange of always wanting to find the middle ground. A leader that is willing to lead us to take our place once again in the world; as the barometer of strong leadership.  A leader who is pro-active, both at home and abroad, not a prime minister and government who appear to simply react to the media story of the moment. A leader with the smarts to set the country’s agenda based on what is right and proper for the majority and thus the long term economic success of all, not on the whims and wishes of vociferous minorities whose only concerns are the narrow victory of their aims without care for others.
